5 stars- really 5 Gia feels like the kind of place you stumble upon and instantly hope never changes. Tucked just off the beaten path, it gives new meaning to hidden gem, the kind of restaurant you want to share with everyone, yet selfishly keep to yourself. We sat at the bar, soaking in the retro Italian beachside vibes even if it’s smack in the middle of a concrete jungle no beach in sight, yet that’s the vibe I got: warm wood, marble counters, stacks of bicchierini, old-school tunes and a gentle hum of conversation. It’s effortlessly stylish, unpretentious, and buzzing without being loud. A place that invites you to stay awhile. The food is thoughtful and beautifully balanced. From the fresh pink grapefruit fish crudo to the perfectly grilled duck spiedini and rich, fall-apart lamb belly, each plate celebrates bold ingredients with subtle finesse. The orange wine was a perfect pairing bright, structured and just funky enough to keep things interesting. Dessert? Gia doesn’t just “do” dessert...they mean dessert. The tiramisu was easily the best I’ve ever had; creamy, delicate with a decadent ganache and crisp brittle on top. The chocolate torta was pure comfort, dense and dark with a dollop of fluffed sweet cream to lighten the guilt. John looked after us with grace and ease, rounding out a night that felt entirely special from start to finish. Gia’s been open for a little while now, but it still feels like a secret and I truly hope it stays open for everyone to experience evenings like the one we had. And for those wondering about price: we've dined at our fair share of ristoranti and can honestly say Gia delivers exceptional value. For two; cocktails, wine, 5 dishes and through dessert, no holding back—the bill came to around 220 before tax and tip. For the quality, creativity, and quantity (designed to share), it’s more than fair. It’s giusto. We even were treated to a house limoncello, cin cin! Thank you Gia for the amazing hospitality and experience.

Wow! Just wow! Everything we’ve had was impressive! But the highlight was definitely the bisteca fiorentina is just THE BEST MEAT I’ve ever had (and I am Brazilian!!!!!). Melts in your mouth, and the sauce flavor... the wines are such a treat... thanks to an amazing night!!!

I was extremely surprised and pleased that the restaurant exceeded my expectations. The food was great - as good as at the best places I ate in Tuscany while I was there. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Food is perfectly executed, wine list is extensive and the staff can really talk to pairings and expected notes from the wine. A must try if you're in the area

Food is all local and of the highest quality, drawing inspiration from several regions in Italy. The service is impeccable! The staff seem really happy to be and they’re super knowledgeable about their wine and the menu, leading to great pairings for dinner. The vibe is intimate and the music is great. I think Gia is one of the most underrated and sexy restaurants in Montreal right now!

Extraordinary. We had a truly delightful experience dining at this restaurant. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was very pleasant, and the service was outstanding. The menu is quite complex for those who don't speak French (they don't have an English menu), but seeing our confusion and difficulty in choosing, the staff kindly and generously took charge and offered to select for us. Everything they sent to our table was exquisite. We enjoyed a bottle of wine and had an unforgettable evening.

Had a date night at Gia yesterday and it did not disappoint! We were looking for a nice restaurant the day off and easily booked a table. Intimate setting with dimmed lighting, music and sound level were not overwhelming. Service was very friendly and efficient. We ordered a glass of orange wine and a mai tai with a twist which were both refreshing. For food, we got the seafood specials such as the lobster bites and razor clams, the eggplants with parsley and cheese (which melted in our mouths), the fish croquettes, and the pici all’annantra (best ragout pasta dish I’ve EVER had, better even than in Florence). We finished it off with the chocolate cake (flourless and decadent) and the fig leaves gelato which piqued our interest. All in all definitely recommend this gem tucked away in st Henri.
